What's the difference between Seed Garlic and Culinary Garlic?
When we harvest the garlic, we sit and grade the garlic one by one, to determine if it is under two inches or over two inches. If it is under two inches, it is considered culinary garlic and over two inches will be seed garlic.
All the garlic is carefully cured and then the culinary goes to market and the seed gets stored for sale in the early fall. To store garlic properly, keep in a dark place out of direct sunlight and not in the refrigerator.
In Oregon, we plant the garlic in the first week of November but planting differs for different regions.
Our seed garlic becomes available on October 1st.
